Several of the upper class students are writing up their articles for the next edition, which will go to print at the end of October.
Now that school field trips are in full swing, there will be much to read about in the upcoming release. Seniors will also be contributing photographs, as they work on their composition and framing skills through their Yearbook class.
Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, Sancta Dei Genitrix
"We fly to Thy protection, Holy Mother of God" are the opening words to the oldest known prayer to Our Lady, dedicated to Our Lady Help of Christians, Maria Auxilium Christianorum. "Auxilium" and "praesidium" are both translated as "help" or "protection," but they also share the particular impression of a military element: "auxilium" conveys the idea of "help" specifically in the form of "military reinforcements," and "praesidium" is used for "miliary escort or garrison."
The Sub Tuum Praesidium is a prayer asking Our Lady for aid in our daily battles - quite an appropropriate banner for the Academy's student production!
